The oil painting
Reception in a Turkish Harem (French: Reception dans un harem turc) is a famous painting, oil on canvas, which was created between 1725-1737 by the Flemish-French artist Jean-Baptiste van Mour (1671-1737). It measures 58 cm x 98,8 cm and shows a scene of two womem playing Mangala in the Topkapi Palace of Sultan Ahmed III in Constantinople.
The painting was sold together with three other pictures of the same master at an auction of Christie's (London) on December 7, 2006, for €525,376.32.
Reproductions are today offered all over the internet.
